Environmental Site Assessments, UST removal; soil and ground water
related environmental services, and oversight or review of environmental
projects. We have experience in all phases of UST related projects,
as well as RCRA and Superfund.
The firm’s Principal,
Dan Short, P.G. earned a Geology B.A. from California
State University, Fresno, and a Geology M.S. from Oklahoma State
University. His Master’s thesis characterized the geology
and hydrology in part of the Uwharrie Mountains near Troy, North
Carolina. He served on the Board of the Ground Water Professionals
of North Carolina from 1998 through 2000 and was its President
in 1999.
Mr. Short began his geological
career in 1972 and has applied his geologic and/or environmental
skills in a number of states. These include North and South Carolina,
Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, West Virginia, Alaska, Texas, California,
New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon and Nevada. His expertise includes
projects in sand/shale environments, limestone and dolomite, crystalline
rocks, and Piedmont clayey-silty soils. His experience also includes
fracture analysis, geophysical interpretation, and geophysical
modeling.
Mr. Short is active in community
affairs. He helped incorporate the Town of Midland in 2000 and
was its first Mayor. He remains active in his community on a volunteer
basis in non-political ways.
With over 30 years of technical
and supervisory experience, Mr. Short has the skills needed to
examine earlier work and to provide the information you need for
making informed decisions about property acquisition or additional
regulatory requirements.
Mr. Short is a licensed professional geologist in North Carolina,
South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia. CCA
